Commentary:
There ain't no snake in Eden
The Devil is on the run
Jesus came and he played the game
Against the Devil and won.
The stakes were high,
It was you and I,
They were playing for each sinner.
The game went 'round
And when the chips were down,
Jesus was the winner!
The Devil is on the run!
The Devil is on the run!
There ain't no snake in Eden,
The Devil is on the run!
There ain't no snake in Eden,
The Devil is on the run.
As I recall, we owed it all
For something that Adam done.
We couldn't pay the debt they say,
The bar was set too high.
But Jesus succeeded.
He had what was needed,
Sent down from God on high.
The Devil is on the run!
The Devil is on the run!
There ain't no snake in Eden.
The Devil is on the run!
