Poem Number 3710
The Time I Slept With A Rock Star
Commentary:
The famous young man
Leered at me from beneath his curls
His lips no longer twisted
Into the sardonic sneer of the stage
He bought me a drink
Asked my name in low, slow slurring voice
That excluded the pressing others
Who would be hangers on
We talked for a while
Ignoring the swirl of fans and strippers
The prerequisite fluff
Before we got to the point
He explained his desire
Retire his bus for a while to escape the prying
The hungry grasping admiration
To get me alone in his world
He took my arm and my drink
Wove and dodge between the preening girls
Watching our progress
Staring me daggers
The life of a rocker
Fucking and drugs and the loneliness of fame
Our temporary union
A passing diversion with no sense of blame
I left him in the morning
Sleeping in the tangled sheets, stardust and pillows
His body a ruined and wasted temple
Where last night I knelt in pagan prayer
--Moussifer (the un-repentant ex-slut)
