palace of excess
Commentary:
Canals overflowing
water rushes under the palace
making travel difficult
Inside plush
red and warm and pulsing
like a gilded womb
Dreams and oddities
walk side by side
kaleidoscope whirling
desires parade
like targets for passion
ready for the killing shot
great banquets await
royal halls of seduction
laden with incense
all this fragile beauty
eggshell perfection
feeding off gratification
the palace of excess
once left behind
reverts to being a dream
