Poem Number 910
I try too hard to hide the ice in my veins, freezing slowly from the inside out
And all I really want is to just run away, but I feel like my feet are turning to stone.
I wonder if you can see the lie behind the smile, and maybe my eyes scare you sometimes
but I don't think there's anything left of me to call "human" or "free".
Take me home, let me go before I have to deny you again.
You're bruising the rose and kissing the thorn.
