Poem Number 893
did muldar do molly maid?
Commentary:
.
i am amazed those close to me are now acting out just as I enter the thick of my work. it's true they won't have as much access to me. i have been coaching them, getting them prepared.
i see now how a professional engaged in protecting the public interest gets slaged and maybe sidelined by loved ones who honestly can't comprehend the required commitment and pressures of the job.
this is a limited gig, but it is INTENSE while it lasts. i won't be available, i might not return calls, it may seem like i'm not invested in relationships but that is far from the truth. however, i get where you are coming from. remembering how i didn't understand when those i cared about couldn't drop everything and listen to me babble on about setting up my email, or today, you tell me your three cats have puked all over the house. i'm sorry, i just don't have time to do more than commiserate, suggest you call a vet and be glad they don't live with me.
remember those scenes when Muldar had a chance to go home? how the key clicked in the apartment door lock, the suite dimly lit, well arranged and dusted. did Muldar have a cleaning lady on retainer, someone who made his life comfortable and didn't ask questions? i do. it makes all the difference in the world when i am able to come home to a quiet moment and can sleep in my own bed with my arms tenderly wrapped around myself.
