Poem Number 833
The sun still glowed on the mountain top
While the valley in shadow lay
When I came to the edge of the river
At the end of a lonely day
And I paused to reflect on the weary miles
I had travelled along the way
In the East the first star twinkled
And I made a wish so true
That by the end of another day
I would be again with you

Thank you both. I love to "tinker" with words to try to get them to come out right. You win some and you lose some. Where are all the poets that used to post here? Glad to see you're still here, RJ.
