Poem Number 827
DEATH OF A BUD
Commentary:
As I sit here in this darkened room oblivious of life,
my thoughts wander back across this perilous day.
The anguish I can’t forget, for it cuts like a knife.
The useless loss of this innocent fragile small soul.
I cry softly as my little one sleeps the eternal sleep,
precious shrouds are worthless to my crying eyes.
A fallen angel too soon plucked from this earth,
to return to GOD in his heaven in the blue sky.
A small soul to be guided by the stars in the night.
Across the milky-way and greeted by the morning sun.
I am left cold inside, as this little soul takes flight,
and I think of sweet moments once shared, now bleak.
Memories will have to replace the joys I have known.
This young bright flower too soon from bud to death.
Thank GOD for the short time that we could share.
This was a life drawn and spent in a single sweet breath.
