Poem Number 763
untitled

Commentary:
DAD
...............
I sit and stare
quietlty
thinking it's time
for my eyes to open
and see you standing
with that smile
brighter than the sun
reflecting in the mirror
above the mantle
next to your picture.
The one that was propped
on the easel
at the top of the alter
for all to see.
That smile never faded
from the frame
no matter how many tears
slip from my eyes
down the sides of my cheeks.
I will never see
the smile on your face
I will never hear
the laughter in your voice
I will never feel
the hugs and kisses
I will only remember you
the greatest man
in my life
.
