Poem Number 760
irish revenge
Commentary:
Tis late
alone I sit
weaving tales
and calling wee folk to dance
I cast blessings
fragile as spun sugar
out and about
over all my companions
These are the hours
where questions slink out
of closets and cubbyholes
and line up
grinning
taunting me
by flipping me
the ethereal bird
but I have learned
to smile and bow
to your fears
your anxieties
your questions
to accept them
and welcome them
as blessings and teachers
this simple act
really
pisses them off
and Irish revenge
is a sweet brew
