if i could lay my hand on
to swallow your pain
to take your injustice back
into my mind
to rescue you from suburban jock itch
petty favors and bubble gum
dreams
your goddess abandons you
and I
in my altruistic bend
want only
to heal
your soul
even if it means
you leave me
alone
