Poem Number 670
nursing denial
and spoon feeding de Mississippi
in the darkness of the day

Commentary:
"a broken bone is nothing
when there's a war to be won."
nurse stands over me,
stern,
unbending,
she provides the lies to
fool my inner policeman;
"i fell,
      he didn't push me,
it was an accident,
      it was all my fault."
nurse smiles, approvingly
"what a little soldier;
endurence will win the day."
-------
wow. domestic abuse?
-------
very, very good.
