Poem Number 327
Ceramics
.
the ceramic lion
no denyin
i ain't lyin
th ceramic lion
Commentary:
Even the most
beautiful
equisite
porcelain tiles
need
the plain
practicality
of cement
grouting
to firmly
hold them
in place
otherwise
they slip,slide
and break
chipped
into ugliness
becoming an
expensive
time comsuming
waste.
.
.
Although
mosaic
patterning
is pretty
it's
fragmented
effect
doesn't
entirely
show
the real
intention
or the
craft
of the
original
artist
.
does it.
-------
A thought provoking poem.
Something more to consider:
-
from shattered remnants
of broken ceramic
beauty is born anew
painstakingly assembled
from discarded shards
fresh intent
detailed mosaic
resurrected beauty
*s.t.*
-------
Don't make any mistake
I enjoy mosaic
everytime you look you
can see something different
and the patterns and colors
in particular, appeal.
The point I was trying to
make was that every now and
then I appreciate brushstrokes,
a soft play of shade and light
on a simple canvas or tile.
Something I can look at and see
the truth, just as the artist
saw it through their eyes when
they were moved enough to capture
it.
To see simplicity through another's
eyes, relaxes and refreshes.
I think if possible, we should strive
to preserve that original beauty.
Well, thats my 2 cents worth anyway!
-------
True. Can you imagine chopping up the Grand Tetons and trying
to put them back together better than before? I would say it can't
be done. *s.t.*
-------
I would say you are right! S.
