Poem Number 321
A Singular Waltz
Commentary:
Such red and light!
Such blue heat!
Such depth of warmth and sight that my heart
would not skip a solitary beat
but for the slow rotation of the world
swimming in a depth of cold and ancient acumen
absolute
complete
coupling together amongst the photons, as waves of thought we dance entranced
puppets hung on cosmic threads, wrapped together upon abstract beds of unopened oysters
sliding together on sheets of desire and dreams smoother than the finest silk
sweeter than the freshest cream
reality with its constant pain and pleasure sinks
into the back-seat upholstery as we close our eyes to view
the veracity of the whole
backpedaling happily into a celestial void compressed
everyone and everything together
in harmony, balanced
quivering bliss on the head of a pin
God perhaps,
before the spark that created the light, and with it
the darkness that we fear in closets and closed spaces
and in stillness of death, absorbed by the living
exhaled as breath
Such red light!
Such blue heat!
I close my eyes to dance with you in comfort among the nothing,
looking down in wonder upon a perfect bliss, entirely contained
on the head of a pin
