Poem Number 964
I longed for those tender kisses of so long ago
So passionate in their intensity...so longing in their touch
But my eyes fell as you told me that this could never be
That I would have to be content with these kisses of today
And so I cried myself to sleep that eve and continue to dream of possibilities
I dream again of walking around that lake fingers interlaced
marching in that funny lockstep, looking at each other
that knowing what would happen latter in our eyes
might not be the dance of our youth..but at least we know the tune
my eyes fell to see your hand reaching to embrace me again
your old hands under my clothing , touching me again...better
