Poem Number 942
Han Cheng watered his garden
then he watched his miracle sprouts grow
Little chia pets on the window sill
Chubby pigs and burros sunning on the sill
Herbs and trees conjured in the image of his will
A strong will that enabled him to look out into the alley
And recall the details of his childhood home
Fan Shi had shown him the tiger stalking,
Had said 'For one thing to live, another must die"
He had shown him the no behind the yes
the and the truth that outgrows the lie.
