Poem Number 8991
love is like popcorn
if it gets too hot
all's swell
smells good, tastes great, beckons
if it gets too hot all is not swell, it stinks and you get burned
I like it just right lusciously floating in butter
with lots of salt and a coke on the side
oh orvil you say the sweetest things
but there are still a few kernels unpopped
Commentary:
this whole poem doesn't have a kernel of meaning
-------
my question: is it stovetop or microwave?
-------
Didn't Kernel Sanders pop and got buried a few years ago? -- Gordita
-------
that's chicken honey, not popcorn
-------
at the bottom of the bag there are always a few unpoped kernels...which of us can really make a perfect bag of popcorn? kernels of regret? kernels of things left unsaid? kernels of love unspoken? or maybe it's just popcorn. I think we are all just a bunch of beatniks...hahahaha...m.e.
-------
where i come from, we call the unpopped kernels 'grannies'.
-------
Love has no kernals in it that I know of...
-------
I was in love with a colonel once. He popped after a heart attack. -_ Gordita
-------
i must have the wrong guy then cuz he has lots of kernals but the delicious part more than makes up, so i'll keep him popped and unpopped kernals all
