I am so sick of hearing people say homosexuality is an abomination. The best friend I have, ever WILL have is the most amazing, loving, kind soul i have ever heard of, and just happens to be gay. As love and kindness are not abominations, nor is my friend. When people say ignorant things or seek violence, I die inside from the hurt, and seeing the hurt on his face. I know that life's not perfect, and I know that people are not perfect, but at times it seems hopeless. I want to ask these people "what are you so afraid of?"

Your friend should know that there are people who care about him, but who also believe that his homosexuality is something that he isn't necessarily a worse person than anyone else for feeling or being tempted of, but who believe that acting on it is the wrong. What people need to be afraid of are the results of all behavior that can be harmful to themselves and others. People can be at odds with each other for many reasons and when the problems are approached with a willingness to understand views without compromising yourself, a lot can be accomplished. People need to treat each other as though they possess reasoning capabilities. The world would be a happier place.

well however beautiful the poem and no matter how unpolitically correct, homosexuality is still a sin as defined in the Bible. God destroyed Sodom & Gomora for such and he has not changed no matter how much anyone chooses to disagree & argue with him. moriality is really in the dumps in todays world, anything being accepted as right. it is still wrong in God's eyes.

I DO NOT hate ANYONE. I don't have a deep need to hate. If you've been paying attention you would see that I've only been trying to be loving in a sort of battlefield where I'm encompassed. I think you have misunderstood mercury's poem's intent, as well as the efforts of one who does not hate.
I am someone who by the grace of God is doing better each day in my struggle or battle against sexual sin, one of the greatest challenges facing mankind because the drive is so powerful. Fornication and/or adultery are things that I am gaining more strength against every day. I've been getting to know God better, and so, if it's possible to feel sorry for God, .. He's made some progress with me. Even in my thoughts, those things do not plague my conscience, though they plague me in the sense that the DEVIL, is a false accusor who hates me for it, but would hate me anyway,. and I'm not including anyone else in the definition of Devil, but the Devil in this writing.
Then there is God, who could stop him, but has His own plan for me, ..as in the dark as I am in them sometimes. I think the goal in this dark, now, may be to increase my sensitivity and attentiveness where correcting others is concerned. I've tried, though. Where sexual sin is concerned, I have been so affected by my conversion and the ongoing process of it that I have even written in my journal, ..from those early days of being purged of those sins, .. onto now, accounts of DREAMS, where I refused to indulge in sexual sin, as though as awake as I am now, and even today, in the dreams when facing threats for the refusal, I am triumphant. That had never happened before. That can't happen unless you have some hold on that sin, unless that demon is gone. I don't entertain sexual sin, though God still has to increase my understanding and strength and I am still in the flesh and surrounded by sin. It is a soul-destroyer. Homosexuality is a sexual sin that doesn't distress me, in the sense that the urges are not there, at all. I am heterosexual and am not fighting homosexual tendencies. I am not in a struggle with it, but must battle the issue on this site in the form of slander , and also because of the serendipity that follows me and suggests I'm hinting something, as has happened in too many of my poems, on too many topics, not to take away from the importance of why they happened - 8909, 8911, 8913, 8888 , are poems that explain this current problem very well. There is a man called Job in the Bible who lost all his children, animals, wealth , by wind and fire in one day and also his health, not to say what I'm going through can in any way compare to that suffering, but the point is that when God allows Satan to to hurt others, he's being allowed to hurt his own cause and help others. It backfires, and works for good instead, even though there are painful losses for a time. That book of the Bible also shows how powerful Satan is and that's not the half of it. So when I see these things happen, I'm not all that surprised. I learn my lessons and I learn to love the lessons. I just had to say this. And that you even thought for a second, that I could have had those tendencies and went around hinting about them, is a shock it will take some time to stop marveling over. Like I said, the homosexual isn't the sin, but if someone knows in their heart that something is a sin and acts on the sin, that is where there guilt is. God loves gays too. He loves all sinners, and He forgives sin constantly . Even converted people will sin until the day they die because they are of sinful natures and in a sinful world, but when Christ overtakes the heart, those sins are forgiven and His nature becomes dominant, ie. the morality I even maintain in my dreams. I know that some dreams are just dreams but there is an undeniable consistency that I have in my life, even where dreams are concerned. Now I know that you're a young man and I hope that I don't sound condescending or patronizing...just being me. I'm sure that now you can understand that I was very upset that you could think for even a second, what your poem suggests, very upset. I just wouldn't do something like that. Doesn't anyone know me at all by now. I'm sure they do, but what else is new. Slander is too often the operative word. Mercurysmile , you are dear to me, as is everyone here. Answer me so we can further understanding. Love you . Not much surprises me anymore, so again, if your friend really exists, then I have incorrectly interpreted your poem. Forgot to make this point. Well-balanced as society defines it unwittingly is everything God. Problem is the standards are too high, so when confronted by someone who follows those standards too closely, people get convicted and angry, flips the truth, and suddenly that person represents imbalance. The theme proven again and again in the last few months. Lord help us souls.

m.s. this is just beautiful. It's a real pity that the world has become indeifferent and cold, and it's even worse that it picks on certain types of people. Just because someone is gay doesen't mean they are a horrible person. Secondly, let me please say this, it needs to be said at the risk of offending all the fanatics out there (I'll say sorry even before I begin, curse me to hell if you will) - this has got nothing to do with your bible, for all we know the bible could be the greatest work of fiction our world has known. that is still debateable, but, that's not my point, -- my point is, what is worse is other human beings condemnation of their fellow man for expressing individuality, no matter what form that individuality takes, be it living life as a gay or lesbian person or wearing wierd clothes. Lord Ag, I agree with you 100%. Now, I recognize that I'm not the most up to date on the bible, but does it not say that in "god's" eyes, all sins are equal? Therefor, why do we not throw stones, bash ridicule and seek violence at people who cuss and swear??? because it is STUPID!!!!, and it's not our right to judge.
The poem is about a real friend, some one with more virtue than all you bible thumpers. He is the one person who bothered to notice that freaky chick in the corner that I used to be, he's held my hand and walked beside me through life. Through depression, siucide, alcohal abuse, he was there for me, which is more than i can say for my church, which cast me out. The poem is about me feeling completely helpless and unable to give back enough to a friend that gave me so much. If i offended anyone, i'm not sorry. A bad poem is far from the worst things in life.

Were there two many also's? I'm just another person trying to get to heaven. I considered bringing up the topic of hermaphroditism. I must learn more about it. Not being omniscient does not equate being ignorant. Genetic factors don't keep people out of the kingdom..genetic factors didn't botch Christ's mission, didn't prevent salvation, He has overcome the world, that's everthing. This issue is new for me .. but I will examine it.

being homosexual is not genetic, it is sin. all sin is wrong and we are not condoning any sin and all sin is forgivable, trouble is you have to recognize sin and repent of it to be forgiven, hence the dilemma, if you feel homosexuality is not wrong, you will not repent. God gives christians the responsibility to tell of and expose sin and tell of Jesus' saving grace. you may indeed accept or reject, we will all stand before Him one day and answer because no matter how unfair some of you may think it to be, God makes the rules, we don't. as far as God's love read in the Bible how many God ordered destroyed for disobeying him, he is also a God of wrath, never forget that.....how petty to mention the spelling because I have seen so many poems and comments with much misspelled and never a word mentioned about it, I think the point was very clear by that commentor (who was not me by the way) and certainly showed no intention whatever of mocking God. Bottom line of it all is the Bible says for us ALL to work out our OWN salvation in trembling and TRUTH and even a child can see the equipment God gave us for sexual purposes is meant man for woman and woman for man, homosexuals use parts for purposes unintended.

Some of the most prolific writers and artists have been homosexual, through history. Great musicians and actors come under the "gay" category. HOWEVER, strictly speaking for mother nature, if everyone were gay, the human species would all die out.I think that's what is meant by it not being "normal". MAYBE, today it is meant to be present to curb the exploding world population! Are there more "gay" people today or are they just getting more press?? Petty I have contended with. I'm used to being scoffed at, so if I thought you were mocking God, that's understandable because it's happened often. I'm listening to you, and I also believe that sin must be repented of. I like what you're saying. It's true. As for my point about genetic factors, I was basically saying that as in cases of hermaphroditism, where sometimes the parents must decide whether to raise a child as a boy or girl, or in cases where children are born severely retarded or autistic, God, who created them, knows their souls, has His communication with them, and they have no less opportunity or grace than anyone else, for accepting salvation. Recognizing God, recognizing sin, forgiveness, repentance, .. nothing there to disagree with.

none of the other matters you mention are spoke of in the Bible with direction, homosexuality is, God hates it. the other matters you speak of must be dealt with in prayer and grace. In the case of hermaphroditism from what I have heard they have a dominate gene, just an extra one. I have personally heard testimonys from people who were professing homosexuals that upon being SAVED through the blood of Jesus, turned from and had no more desires in that area. The other issues could not be the same unless God healed them. I love everyone and pray all make it to Heaven, but I believe the Bible is our road map, inspired word of God and unless it is obeyed he lists ALL that will not make it in....everyone can read that on their own..and all that is not covered by Jesus through repentance.

Marvin you are correct, God would never condem what he created which speeks volumes against homosexuality. He condems and has destroyed because of homosexuality and makes it clear that will never enter Heaven, a loving God would never create persons to be doomed from birth to Hell, His word says he wishes NONE should perish. Which is very clear he created none to be homosexual.

Hermaphrodites are born I believe with an extra chromosome, instead of XX or XY they have an extra X or Y. This is classified as a birth defect. Why birth defects are in this world is a whole other discussion. Why don't you all lighten up. ~Tony~

Hey all you bible preachers, yeah, we're all sinners and we're all going to hell and you're goping to heaven no matter what kind of person you are just because you are christian. bravo for the christian god's equality. Funny isnt it. You are treated with equality only if you are christian. ha ha ha. the rest of us are going to burn in hell anyway so why even bother if we're sinning or not. Now I know all you bible trumpeters think youre all righteous and all that, but let me welcome you to the real world where things happen while the bible doesent explain.
