Poem Number 7581
She drowned in the river
---Anonymous
down by Parker's Mills,
---Anonymous
many years ago
---Anonymous
Though she's gone the mill
---Anonymous
still vibrates with commerce,
---Anonymous
the decibels of machinery's
---Anonymous
whine and whir numb the memory,
---Anonymous
but above it all, on foggy
---Anonymous
Spring mornings, you can
---Anonymous
still hear her cries for help,
---Anonymous
in the rhythm of the machines,
---Anonymous
that numb the mind for commerce
---Anonymous

Commentary:
You have told us a tragic story in a wonderful poem. Is this based on a true incident? :: Ed
-------
No Ed, not on any true incident I have known, but I'm sure someone drowned near a mill some place in time. This was an imaginary story. Glad you liked it. Anon.
