Poem Number 7033
Sensible thing

Commentary:
Holding the compass card of my life
wondering, which of those points are true
i ching, tarot... needle moved by you
now, what is the sensible thing to do ?
.
The world on my mind, ever beautiful
stones at the bottom, clouds at the sky
sunset, starrise - i'd follow you !
just - hardly the sensible thing to do
.
Still, ripping off those scales of habit
years like chains, like pillows too
yet even below : that deja vue
that natural, sensible thing to do
.
Tearing the bonds of seasons and years !
naked, defying time's constant clue
now will i dare smash, reach right through
that sensible, sensible thing to do ?
~~~
" tearing the bonds of seasons and years"..I have been there..that region where sense crosses to nonsense..the very border of discovery.What quantum to make that leap!! but it is the journey,always the journey...wonderful poem Allan.......Jake
Allan -- Deep meaning poem about human nature and trying to change aquired habits. I find it easier to wrestle a gorilla. Enjoyed reading it. -- Malcom
This is a great poem Allen!! We hope the"sensible" always coincides with the right thing to do. We all have those choices and it can be hard. Enjoyed this work. Says a lot .J.:)
Absolutely beautiful!!!! I especially liked lines 5-8. ......jla
thank you fellow poets - sensible and wise, head and soul... though we always FEEL true north, life is often some detours, forced by stormes, currents, all those "forces majeure". Yes, as you say Jake, the journey... -- allan
