Poem Number 6789
Insects fly wildly as the neon light flashes
Noisy truck maneuvers it's way down the street
A squirrel barely make it across the street
A beer can flies out the window of a passing car
A dog pees on a mailbox
In the shadows, lurks a being
using a needle as his gateway to joy
Stray cat rubs against his unfeeling leg
under the neon light a woman vomits in the street
Two feet away a butterfly kisses it's last flower for the night
Gunshots then sirens heard in the distance
a mouse slowly makes it's way down a drainpipe
From his getto window the child takes in his last view for the evening
Grabs his teddy bear, the only security he knows
Then kneels by his bed and prays he won't die before he wakes

Commentary:
WOW, profound discription of what far to many children view and live in daily! I like the play between the animals common place behavior and the humans obscene! Joel

You don't know what it is like until you grow up that way and become apart of the averages we read so much about in all the papers on children and voilence. *Little Eyes*

More good than goody, goody gumdrops! Keep it up, more realistic than
Gotham city! Selrachco

Beautiful work, reminds me of times pushed away but never to be forgotten... Touched many nerves... Cristos 98'
