Poem Number 4233
Silently so silently
I roam the house tonight
Hoping so fervently to hear
you speak my name...
to see your face again
Only the trees are whispering
outside my window pane
The only vision of form
is their leaf shadows
dancing on the moonlit grass
The empty house thunderous
with the bellowing silence
born by the recently bereaved
desolate as a souless necropolis
my reality a weighty burden of stone
I walk the deck
..............of my lost dreams
icy cold rain soaks my nightgown
somehow you tell me I must live on
shivering I stare into the yellow leaves
your broken tree-house, my broken heart
and I promise you they won't find me there
wrapped in your blanket again...I cry
in the muffled tones of a secret triumph, cupping the joy spilling from forgotten dream
