Poem Number 3321
A single cry
Pirces the night silence
And I wish
That it hadn't
For now
How am I going to sleep at night
When I know such things happen in the world?
What right do they have to intrude on
My complacency?
I didn't shoot him
I didn't commit that
Atrocity
Why should I have to care?
I don't know them
And they don't know me
And yet they come to me with
Their problems
Their burdens
It's not as if I
One man
Could change the world
I'm no hero--I'm
Just
One
Man.
