Poem Number 2749
As I sit in quiet contemplation
---Anonymous
In the splendor of fall's amber hues,
---Anonymous
I am in awe of God's handiwork
---Anonymous
That surrounds me--it is my muse.
---Anonymous
My unused easel and canvas wait
---Anonymous
For me to take up brush and paint
---Anonymous
To capture nature's brilliant vista,
---Anonymous
Its grandeur to clumsily duplicate.
---Anonymous
I close my eyes and breathe the scent
---Anonymous
Of rotting leaves and sun-baked hay.
---Anonymous
My canvas is no way to catch
---Anonymous
The wonder of this day.
---Anonymous
No, I will sit and wonder why
---Anonymous
My best canvas is my mind's eye.
---Anonymous
Commentary:
Hope you like it. :o) JRC
-------
Splendid poem, JRC. Truly this is a wonderous day that I will kick back and enjoy. For me, it will not be long before I am encased in cold kiss of winter. 8^B -dave
-------
A pure white blanket of winter . . . Is it really so bad? JRC
-------
Perhaps it's not so bad, but I would take a day like to day ten to one over a wintery blanket of any kind. -dave
-------
Ditto, Dave. Though the beauty of such a blanket is breathtaking, I love driving with my window down & my hair flying in all directions ... enjoying the warmth of the sun ... but I can live without the humidity .... JRC, this is beautiful .... keep writing .... Drm
