Poem Number 2389
I've reached the calm after the storm
It's natural wonder first lured my heart
into its beckoning blackness with
promises of excitement, entertainment
Then stole it from me with
a cruelty so cold
It could freeze the fiery pits of hell
Shredded it....
and proundly flaunted its remains,
along with those of the others
But all hurricanes must pass, as did this,
now merely a lonesome tropical storm
spinning aimlessly in the atlantic
leaving its victims to heal
in needed tranquility.
