Poem Number 23316
Summer born of fire
Leaning toward the source, exposed
to see a little truth unclothed.
But it's arcing and sparking bare wire
It's not contrary to wisdom, can't be
dog days yet, can't be
the dogs are sweet, but sometimes they get confused.
But in confusion they can be burnt and so easily lost
to that gung-ho three legged pack
Like an address painted on the curb by the dissidents boss
who hides the truth in the ways of the abused
Oh, you who hide the truth from summer's flame
Commentary:
line 11 should read "who hides truth in the ways of the abused"
-------
no, keep line 11, it reaches a wider audience.
