Joy in the garden
between the butterleaf lettuce and the feathered fronts of carrot shoots,
you told me you could make tomatoes grow on trees
now tell me what's the point of bringing flowers
to a girl who collects her own seeds?

Maybe the flowers are a gesture of appreciation for what those seeds became? Though picking them might send the wrong signal!
