Poem Number 23280
Children

Commentary:
her smile
single teardrop
makes its way down her cheek
allow children to cry ... if they
want to
~
embrace
give them comfort
wipe away all their tears
sighs and cries pass over their lips
unheard
~
anguish
so well concealed
coming from a great depth
their unhappiness becoming
music
~
poems
unburdening
piercing soul and spirit
bound in the vellum of their hearts
written
~
these words
indelible
inscribed upon their mind
embalmed within their memory
its spice
~
a wreath
of bay laurel
like a mark of honour
bestowed upon poets, heroes ...
victors
~
Dedicated to Amelia Worth, Coos Bay, Oregon, USA (diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia in late 2003 and tragically succumbed 7 Nov 2006 of leukemia. She was 22.)
