Poem Number 23247
Husband Hate
Commentary:
They say there’s a thin line
between love and hate
and tonight I have crossed it
and I cannot even feel enough to care.
You,
who has meant so much to me
has hurt me
one too many times
and the death isn’t even worth another tear.
I have fought my heart before
when it was telling me
that it had hurt enough,
I forced my heart to think of
family, church and tradition
and the agony of divorce.
But tonight, I cannot ask my heart,
not even one more time,
to mask the poisoning it has endured.
And the church and God may condemn me,
but is the lie
better
than the walk out the door?

anon- if this isn't fiction, ouch! and...God never condemns His children.
