Poem Number 23238
My heart is so heavy like an anchor
Buried under the water in the sand
My grief is seeping in
All around my heart
Am I drowning?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Three babies like jewels
A girl, a boy and a girl
Given to me, born by me
One has drifted away like a raft on the sea
Am I drowning?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray, if I die before I wake
My baby, she went to sleep
She didn't wake up - where - why - oh please!
Am I drowning?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the ocean is strong...its' tides roar in and out
My soul, Listen - Learn - You must
My heart, Listen Learn then ROAR
You must!
Am I drowning?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peace come over me - give me a rest
My mind is floating - give it an island
I need a rest
Am I drowning?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grant me,
First, the love I gave
Second, the happiness I received, and
Third, the belief & faith to hold on to
My Missy...my love...a reflection on the water
I long to see you - the Faith to Believe
~~~~~~~~~
Commentary:
I had to read this a couple of times to realize that while each stanza can stand alone, they are all connected--good job!! I especially like the last stanza--JFC
