Poem Number 23174
dreaming a memory, or remembering a dream

Commentary:
sometimes you come to me
in dreams more perfect than the past.
it is a bitter-sweet sleep
that mingles innocence with loss,
unraveling the passing years.
your every word is musical;
your touch, my first delight returned.
a faerie tale of my heart's creation,
you draw me close for true love's kiss;
i close my eyes in remembered anticipation,
and wake with goodbye on my lips.
