our beauty is

to be awake
restless as friday traffic heading towards the weekend,
and sad as an office repeating itself
under the same light.

we're stuck in life
and not in birth or death.
this numbness needed to survive
can overkill and we
become irrational,
as disagreement is to war.

numbness that stretches over us
as all the lands we've never been
and barley comprehend.

to say you've been there
is an inability
to comprehend vastness,

to say you've been there
is to capture and cage.
`
to be captured and caged
in vastness.
`
if this is so then beauty too is an end
before a beginning.
but beauty cares for neither of the two.
`
our beauty is birds finding glass
instead of the sky.
beauty we understand,
understand with our hearts.

to care little for the window,
we thank them
as we do any attempt of freedom.
`
they fall broken,
as we fall human,
but it is wrong to say
it is the only hope we know.

that would be to say they were caged to begin with.
