i can still feel her tears echoing
down the light rain of the past.

the earth may smell and feel fresh
and we are free to walk on it once again,
but are bound by our steps.

neither moving nor stopping,
not waiting but knowing,
under this light rain
and its soft destruction.

the beauty of our ruins have only left to
reveal the disgrace
of what it took to build them
