Poem Number 23062
i whisper, my voice as low as limbo,
but you hear me. every part of me, my
ligaments and tendons twanging, instruments
of a nervous orchestra. i don't know
how you hear me. every part of me, my
broken prayers, unbeliever's covenants
of flesh and rushing blood and bloody show
giving birth to you. every part of you, my
tiny baby, apple of my eye. do angels
have to earn their harps before they join the show?
i whisper, my voice as low as limbo,
you hear me contracting and contracting
who
who
he.
