Washing Away the World
Commentary:
Salt & sand
from yesterday;
Dust & dirt
rinsed away.

Clothing smells of
far-off places;
Memory flashes
unfamiliar faces.
~
Sun & beaches
fondly remembered;
Smiles from strangers
momentarily befriended.
~
Water cleanses
body & soul;
Mind rehearsing
stories to be told.
~
Scenery seen
& miles roamed;
Memories remain
& I am home.
