Poem Number 22997
you photographed me mid-sentence, mouth
---chandler, memphis tn
wide open, hoping to make a point
---chandler, memphis tn

---oephim
you shot first, never asked questions
---oephim
I should have sharpened my spear
---oephim
but it was too late, the flash went off
---oephim
and the thought had disappeared
---oephim
()
---Anonymous
you cut the line, the hook
---chandler
still in that fish, a line of red blood drawn
---chandler
across its wake. predators blink into the light.
---chandler

---Anonymous
the bow, the break, the stern,
---oephim, seattle, washington
the waves crashing aft and starboard,
---oephim
the stars barely understood,
---oephim
and not enough to guide us by,
---Anonymous
and there I stood,
---oephim
still,
---oephim
with mouth opened wide
---opehim
