CLOAK
In past Dark Ages, they put on
black cloak of God and proclaimed
harmless wenches as witches
burnt them in early man-made hell
tied to stakes, raising God's stakes.
Mafia man dons cloak of legit
businessman, shakes down owners
of small livelihood outfits
invests ill-gotten riches
with colleaugue wrapped in the garb
of a licenced stock broker
Conniving leader in attire
of patriotic savior
takes over all state powers
jails those who point out he wears
no clothes under his see-thru cloak
Aren't traitors safer behind bars!

So much crime is committed these days in the name of God or patriotism. VI
