Poem Number 22901
On Passing
My brother passed away
A saw a wide chasm
open in front of me
There across the ravine
is a tight rope bridging
the very wide divide
I have started to walk
on the long rope over
the deep land depression
biding its time for me
It's a slow cross-over
to the land of sanity

Commentary:
line 2 should start with 'I', not 'A' = Ben

Life sometimes tests your strength and fortitude. A hug to you, very emotional poem, I can actually feel your pain!!!!)))))))))Peacefrog
-------
Thank you Peacefrog for the hug. I wish I had the chance to hug my brother before he passed away. It was a sudden heart attack = Ben
-------
ben, my condolences to you & your family. that is such a loss ... & it's always hardest on the people left behind. my your brother rest in peace .... Drm
-------
Thank you, Drm. Some say "time heals all wounds", while someone else said "time wounds all heels". I like to believe the latter = Ben
-------
I meant to believe the 'former': "time heals all wounds" = Ben

Your poem had touched me deeply. I lost my husband and I know your pain. He was killed cleaning his gun. Such a waste. It may be that time dulls the pain but I'm not sure we ever truly heal. cb
