Poem Number 22884
ruby allusion
Commentary:
who was he
asking the clock
that ticks sticks
in the heart, the
heat of his?
this was not his
question.
others had white
painted faces painted sticks Picketers
with no Pickets, unlike
the thickness that
moved and kept time
six and six and six
feet beneath tricky feet
that dodged time/
movement.
all of them, their
fresh white
Pickets focused brightly
so true to him and the
same and asking him why, with his
own new paint, did he continue
to profess to
be this crab, this clicking
sticky red red adam and eve apple
red crab
breathing wheezing whining
up from the ocean floor
himself the crab, the Allusion
from another time place Poem-
the hard in the center crab
the soft on the gripping parts crab;
all these this crab
yet still gripping a sticky cigarette-
{end of part one}
