Poem Number 22824
for a stone

Commentary:
You were spread along the fire
your soul ignited
the engine that almost got you lost
coming to my house
or maybe just being there.
Dangled legs,
crossed sideways
and slanted under lips
keep me wanting more.
And the sound
of sweet melodies,
songs I wished
were written for me
not the man in which I've never met
but love to hate,
drift time
like this idle spring.
Your voice
was too beautiful
to hide behind echoed vibrations
of rusty strings.
And with the rising of that roaring bonfire,
I avoided the truth again
because if I told you once, I've told you twice
I am no liar.
