Poem Number 22816
I only paint dancers, he said
long, straight and elegant
pale, porcelain skin, flawless
with a hint of rose upon their lips
A masterpiece
they glide effortlessly
across the canvas
I stand in awe of their grace
Their beauty absorbed by the brush
each stroke I take
leaves me breathless

Commentary:

degas' works are amazing!!! i'm not particularly crazy about that time in art --- impressionism --- but there are a few that stuck out like degas, renoir, manet, monet. btw, enjoyed the poem! Drm
-------
i think women have powers other than perfect skin.
the shift in perspective between the painter and the breathless is interesting, but confusing.

Painting Degas' work with delft verse strokes--fresh new angle. Good job ~ Jim
