Letter to the People: Blowing Steam in Regards to Cellular Telephones.

I see you all in your own little worlds,
with your hands to your ears,
and your eyes sewed shut.
I see you all wondering aimlessly
talking, talking, talking,
but whatever happened to listening?
You are all lost in a forsaken land of enslaving technology,
seeking the unseekable,
and speaking so loudly.
You are the ones entranced by reality TV,
watching others exploit their emotions, dignity, and self-worth,
all for the sacred prize of paper money.
You want to see reality?
Step outside and walk the streets, you won't find money there, but they are filled with motherless children, poverty, hunger, and rape.
But this won't happen.
I watch you not watch.
I watch you consumed by your cell phones.
You pass by me everyday, chit chatting.
You pass by people who are on the verge of exploding,
there eyes are just screaming with pain.
You pass by people who just need an ear to listen, but yours has a phone stuffed in it like an overflowing Christmas stocking.
You never notice, none of you want to help.
Your worries consist of text-messages, saving minutes, and balderdash chit-chat.
You take it to you cars
and kill me everyday.
You run red lights
and run from truth.
Well, I for one don't believe in cell phones.
I don't believe in reality TV,
or a material obsessed country.
I believe in poetry, nature, and music.
I believe this world will end soon, sooner than anyone thinks,
and in my time.
And I'll be up in a kingdom filled with laughter,
and yes, listening.
