Poem Number 22002
you can tell it to your father
add is you want

Commentary:
hey my window flower
what's the deal
out here to meet you
and climb your stairs.
in the moods of morning
lush and young,
a waking lullybye,
a living song.
i met you early
in the honeybuzz of june
we talked like
forever friends
above the grass
beneath the moon.
and here i stand
with a hand full of stones
to call you down softly from
your home;
and tonight
i.ve got us a plan:
to drive away
in my brown sudan.
i just want to get
shy with you.
-
i know your mother
has not been around.
she washed out on saline
before she left town.
and you can tell your father
to go to hell,
despite his rejections
i come to your window still.
and i.ve got us a plan,
we.ll go west
and work on our tans:
because i just want
to get shy with you.
and we.ll burn down their old world
and their museums.
we.ll burn down their libraries
and mosseliums.
we.ll burn down their churches
and state buildings.
we.ll burn down their flags
and their tags and trends.
and i.ve got us a plan:
that involves starting again
beneath the sun
make it all new
evolved above
instituions and rules
and we.ll sit honestly
like our first parents
and not be ashamed
and not be embarrased
and not want for food
and not feel alone
and not assume a mood
and not be tossed out
and not be a stranger
and not be a leper
and never be mourned
and never grow old
and we willnot be reflected in the eyes of the judge who sat us down and told us we were lost to begin with. i will not let them break what i have come to love, you , my window: flower.
