Poem Number 21092
Linger
---Jesse
Commentary:
This nervousness
surrounds me like a hollow shadow
I can know longer live a lie
I can know longer live in the shadows
this battle has been fought for so long
and now I no longer need this to linger on
my mind which has spilt form the left and the right
has only leaked out memories of pain
happiness is not a friend
siting in a cool breeze
the memories are photos
of things that aren't wanted to remember
the feeling that no one understands
I am not on drugs, I just have trembling hands.
-------
i know the feeling. the last lines gives a detailed contrast on how you think people think and what you think. could this parallel be found in the rest of the poem as well. a second voice in the poem? pn.
-------
when I wrote this I did actually have the last line in mind for the whole thing...I put it last so it could look as if it were tied into the whole thing, which it was. -Jesse
