Poem Number 20593
waiting for rain
Waiting for the rain of forgiveness
To wash away the tears of regret
Gouging furrows of sorrow
On my face...and yet
glimmer of hope, wiser still, not to pass this mountain again

Commentary:
standing in the warm sun
the burn of your mouth
still on my shoulder
hot on my eyelids
lips and fingers
-
i close my eyes
and wait for rain
