Uni means one. Uni-verse is a one-line poem. That's what it means.
-------
By definition verse is a group of lines. Uni-verse suggests one sort of stanza.

A verse is a poetic line. A stanza is a group of poetic lines. You can refer to 'writing in verse', as opposed to 'writing in prose'.
