Poem Number 19656
The Inner Voice
Commentary:
(I generally don't write light-hearted.
This is one of my first.)
-
There once was a man with a voice in his head
and a very meager I.Q.
He'd run around in boxers and socks
'cause that's what it told him to do.
-
He bought a thighmaster and Ginsu knife
and the whole foodchain of Chia Pets.
He bought a Swiffer Sweeper and a prettry ring
because that invisible voice said it's best.
-
He thinks there's an angel, or even a demon,
living in his small apartment room.
Too paranoid to ignore it he always indulges
in its request to spend his pockets into doom.
-
There once was a man with a voice in his head
who bought everything the voice would implore.
He finally went mad after all that he had had
only to learn it was the television too loud next door.
