Poem Number 19340
a big fat pregnant belly
held my soul
i pressed my hand against the skin
and felt a hand on the other side
and the noise it made
was a holy drum
exploding with warm rounded notes
and the heat it gave
was fresh baked bread
for my hungry hand.
and the taste i saved
was awe (god, life!)
in this promised land.
