The Gift
---audee
Commentary:
The Gift
`
Pausing , she watched the crowd
revolving like a multi coloured
tufted rag disc coming toward her
along the street.
People hurried, joining the moving
throng, trying to weave into its midst.
Others hung back silent, while the
hostile arrogant voiced their
self-righteous pride.
The rhythm of cooing doves nearby
even seemed to say what her heart
was telling her “this is he”, “this is he”.
A deep warm longing filled her ;
feeling drawn, she moved closer,
pushing her way into the crowd.
Sick, unloved, abused and despised,
closing her mind to insults of the
haughty, ignoring cruel hard jabs to
her body, she moved deeper into
the crowd. Elegant robed
people hissed at her, she had ears
for only one voice.
Mixed voices of praise, jeering,
questioning, echoed around her, while
the gentle mannered one walking in
their midst, spoke patiently, lovingly,
like a parent or teacher would to
jostling inquisitive children.
Pushing in closer, her heart racing,
adrenaline pulsing in her veins,
emotions rendering her speech unable;
she could only reach out to touch him.
Desperately, humbly, she sank down and
touched the hem of his garment.
A healing of wholeness coursed through-out
her body and spirit.
Feeling drawn upon, the man turned to
see who had received of him.
Looking into her face…
She saw LOVE of love itself;
she knew the gift.

audee, you have had my comments on this poem from another place, but i want to say again how very special this poem is. It too is a gift of love, and none can speak more powerfully than that. So, the crowds will jeer, but that is a petty thing counting as nothing against such love. Thank you again...m

BH is not BHS
-------
she knew the gift and what was that? That if your so called god is real he loves some and shits on others? I've seen to much suffering by people caling out to "god" and their suffering continues. Only some rate I guess. unbeliever
-------
Bh and BHS are definetly not the same person.
`
She saw HIM and knew HIM. (She opened her heart and received the gift of HIM, who is eternal life).
-------
Not everyone has their ears open, most of us are at some time are like the pharisies. She just happened to have had her ears opened to his message.
-------
I wasn't thinking on the "message" when I was inspired out of ther blue to write this, I actually had in mind to try to put "the moment" to my mind's eye canvas. I have felt the urge lately to paint things to canvas, though I haven't the tools/equipment yet to do it, so I think the inspiration to do this poem arose out of that desire. :) ~ audee
-------
Though it's hard to understand unbeliever, suffering both personal and worldwide have a reason and often a greater good or understanding comes forth from the ashes of tribulation. "The gift" gave the woman that reached out and touched it a personal peace and understanding. May you have a gift that touches your heart that is as important to you as that gift was to that woman! We all have faith in something, even if it is ourselves. Most of our hearts long to touch something greater than ourselves! Today it was enough to touch the canvas of audee's poem and see!
