Poem Number 17491
Antics of Kaila
Commentary:
Antics of Kaila
----------------
On little nineteen month old feet
you first run this way and then that way
twisting to look over your shoulder,
with little arm stuck out to balance
your looking back, tiny pony-tail bouncing
as you bob along.
`
You are trying to lose your newly discovered shadow!
`
Your new awareness of this dark thing stuck
to you amusing, as in every direction you turn.
`
What is this mimic image?
`
Crouching you reach out to touch it, but
it bends down too.
Try again…..
Oh this shadow thing is just too intimidating!
`
It’s better to run and pick some weeds.
`

A shadow is multi talented, it can skip, dance and run, it can do
many fun things. I really liked this one Ruth, it made me think
about all the fun things a shadow can do....cem.....Merry Christmas to
you and yours.....
-------
thank you cem, it was comical to watch her antics with her shadow, I don't think she'd been in a big enough space nor our sunshine weather to have noticed it before and as our yard is big, she had the opportunity to discover this "thing" that followed her.
May you have an enjoyable festive season! Ruth
