Poem Number 17462
Computer Vacation

Commentary:
After a long eight hour day at work,
stomach starting to rumble
Leave the office behind, escaping
from the zoo into the jungle

I need to get away, try and
Forget just how opaque is the hope of our nation
But so much is riding on me
All I have time for is a computer vacation

At home in front of the monitor
My hands play across the keyboard
Next I attach the wires to my skull and
I’m plugged into the motherboard

Vegas, playing the machines
Flying around the world, first Europe, then Japan
Mardi Gras in New Orleans
Finally a week on a tropical island

When it’s over, I say a prayer to Bill Gates
The modern-day superman
Monday at work all my coworkers
Wonder where I got the tan

Nigh Eve
